Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State dodge PDP national conference on the ground of birthday preparation, saying "my presence there to me means nothing".

Nigeria -Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has stated that his 55th birthday preparations were responsible for his absence at PDP's national conference in Abuja yesterday. Although the governor's birthday comes up on Sunday, November 15, he noted that a number of activities had been scheduled ahead of the event that prevented him from attending the conference.“I am observing prayers here in Afao Ekiti. This weekend is my 55th birthday. I have been receiving several guests and I have a lot of people to meet and preparations to make,”

Mr. Fayose explained. “So, whatever the PDP leaders do at that level, I support them. I think the party even acknowledged the fact that there were things I have done here that had been of tremendous benefits to the party.
So, my presence there to me means nothing.
That is the way I feel.” he said." I am with the PDP and I am committed to every effort being made by our leaders in Abuja to reposition it ahead of next elections. I support NWC and my absence does not mean I am fighting anybody.” “To me, my presence in Abuja is inconsequential. What I place high premium on is ensuring that I make the party very popular and acceptable in my base here in Ekiti, so that the PDP can continue to win elections here,” Fayose said.
